The Team

John graduated from de Montfort University in 1990 with a BSc honours degree in Chemistry and Law. He trained with a leading Hertfordshire practice specialising in the fields of residential and commercial property working with the commercial property team on institutional property portfolio work including the acquisition and development of real-estate assets for Middlesex University. John set up in practice in September 1995 and now heads RHY Law LLP as Managing Partner. John and his team act for many high net worth and commercial property clients assisting them with the acquisition, disposal and development of real-estate.

John is well known for his business and networking experience and is a keen motor-sport enthusiast having been a member of the Porsche Club Great Britain since 1994 and John continues to enjoy a variety of motor-sport interests including being an active participant in the annual Porsche Club Karting Championship. John is also actively involved in charitable organisations supporting many charities both at local and national level.

John is married to Eva and they have three young daughters and enjoy spending family time together

Yogesh specialises in commercially oriented work, particularly property.   He graduated from King’s College, London in 1998 with an honours degree in Law with European Legal Studies.   Yogesh qualified as a solicitor in 2003 with a leading West End firm and joined the property and commercial team in June 2005.

Yogesh devotes much of his spare time to charitable works and he enjoys swimming and playing badminton.  

Simon qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and worked for a number of years in central London practices, such as Brecher & Co, Mishcon De Reya and others before setting up his own firm in North Finchley in 1994. He deals with a mixture of residential and commercial property matters and specialises in divorce and family law being a member of Resolution the Association of Family Lawyers. Simon merged his practice with RHY Law in March 2008. Simon is an active member of Toastmasters International, a professional speakers organisation, and was president of the North London Chapter from 2006/07, plays bridge and is also involved with his synagogue and other voluntary activities.   

Steven Hickling - Partner:

Steven heads up the commercial property team and specialises in larger commercial property transactions. He also undertakes some corporate work. He graduated from University College London in 1985 with B.Sc (Hons) degree in Anthropology. He qualified as a solicitor in 1993 with a leading West End firm and practiced there and subsequently in a small firm specialising in property development work before taking the position of Group Solicitor with Nestor Healthcare Group Plc where he led on a wide range of corporate legal matters. Steven joined the practice in September 2007.  

Away from work Steven enjoys cinema, photography, DIY, travel and long walks with his dog.

Kiran Phull:  Associate Solicitor

Kiran joined RHY Law in 2006 and undertakes both residential and commercial property matters. He graduated in 1991 with an LLB honours degree from the University of Glamorgan and went on to obtain a postgraduate diploma in commercial matters from UCL London University.

Kiran is an active member of a charitable voluntary organisation and also enjoys movies, reading and spending time with his young family

Allen Trowbridge:  Conveyancing Executive

Allen started in the legal profession in January 1982 working for a West End practice with many overseas offices, joining their conveyancing team where he spent 14 years.  He deals with residential, domestic and commercial properties for Ex-pats based in the UAE and other Middle Eastern and Far Eastern clients.  In 1996 he moved to a Holborn practice and whilst there increased his client base.  In 2002 he moved to another practice and whilst there dealt with clients' Offshore Companies and investment properties with his client base being increased by a strong Sri Lanken community through Mortgage Broking contacts.  This led him to join RHY Law LLP in March 2006.

Allen, when not working in the office, enjoys partaking in sports activities, showing and restoring classic cars and increasing his vast music and pop memorabilia collection.

David went into his first legal office in Central London almost straight from school, and he began in a department dealing with residential conveyancing work.   Having gained experience in this field he moved to a firm in Edgware and, when that firm merged with another, he returned to Central London where he stayed until joining the firm in 2002.   David has developed a loyal following of clients, particularly from the Arabic and Farsi speaking world, on whose behalf he deals with residential property and commercial property.

David is a leading member of his church, and a keen golfer.

Elaine specialises in the drawing of Wills, Inheritance Tax Planning and the administration of estates.  She has worked for the past 30 years in this field as an executive including lengthy spells with highly regarded City firms and more recently in North Hertfordshire before joining the firm in November 2004.

Ruth specialises in commercial property. She recently qualified in January 2008 following the completion of her training contract at RHY. She graduated from Reading University in 2003 with a BA honours degree in English and Politics before embarking on the Graduate Diploma in Law at Sussex University and then the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London. In her spare time, Ruth likes to socialise, read, keep-fit and walk her beloved Labrador, Sophie .
