About RHY Law LLP

RHY LAW LLP was formed in 2006.

The former name for the practice, Reading Harris Yalden, was formed in 1997, as an amalgamation of three separate practices.

Randall Harris (formerly Wilders Randall) owned by Jonathan Harris was a North London firm with origins going back to the late 19th century.  Yaldens was set up in 1995 by John Yalden with Jonathans assistance. The new firm rapidly gained local recognition and an enviable reputation within the business community of South Herts.

R F Reading & Co was the successor practice to Hanchett Copley & Hails, which began well over 50 years ago, and Ron Readings name was synonymous with Potters Bar from the early 1960s. Ron was a leading figure in the community as an active member of the local Rotary Club and Preservation Society, and in the twinning of Potters Bar with Franconville in France and Viernheim in Germany. Over the years Ron acted for many well known developers and he was solicitor to Potters Bar Urban District Council which is now part of Hertsmere Borough Council.

Sadly Ron died very shortly after retiring in 2000 but the practice is proud to bear his name which has so many valued connections in the Potters Bar area.

The firm moved in 1999 to the High Street, and to accommodate expansion moved again to Lantern House in 2004. In this time the firm has doubled in size. Concentrating mainly on property and commercial work the probate and trust departments have been developed to allow the firm to offer a more comprehensive service to its clients. The firm is committed to developments in technology which are transforming the way we work. Whilst upholding the best traditions of our profession much of the work can now be carried out on-line.

Jonathan Harris retired from the firm as a partner in June 2006, and was retained as a consultant until his retirement from the practice in August 2007.

Professional discretion prevents us from talking about our clients, but their interests always come before any other consideration, and we value our reputation for service which has been a cornerstone of our growth.
